Eye Vision

Eye & Vision

In Italy about 2 million people (and in the EU about 20 million) progressively lose their sight due to hereditary retinal disorders, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and AMD – age-related macular disorders –. Other vision defects that may add to those mentioned are caused by stroke, AVM trauma, ASD and other causes. Such numbers are increasing mainly due to the aging of the population, the increase in screen stress, the increase in diabetes. In Italy, today about 18% of the population over 15 years of age says they have visual problems.

Eye&Vision aims to become a unique reference in Italy to provide medical, rehabilitative and social support related to these diseases.

While waiting for a cure (unfortunately still non-existent), E&V’s ambition is to continue to offer the most complete range of treatments, services and information under one roof, which can accompany the patient in their journey with these diseases. The progression of the same over time can vary greatly depending on the type of degeneration and other individual variables, consequently the needs of patients will vary and will have to be followed and supported over time in order to give them what they need when needed with the aim of ensuring the best possible quality of life for everyone.

One of Eye & Vision’s distinctive strengths is that it has been built from the knowledge and insights of a European patient group with decades of experience, which has allowed it to add to the insights but also innovation to the therapeutic process. In addition, E&V can rely on the managerial skills of the founders developed over the years with a multinational company in different key areas and international environment.

Other relevant elements are that E&V implements the WHO recommendations and guidelines aimed at enhancing and rehabilitating the vision of all types of patients mentioned (compared to only 15% of patients who do) and that it engages in constant research and development.
