Research and innovation project
May – June 2015
“I left for Tzaneen in South Africa on 1st May 2015 and I came back to Milan after forty days. The main task of my travel was collecting data and material to analyse in my thesis on microcredit. In particular, I worked at SEF offices collecting fundamental data on loan payback and savings. I also had the chance to travel around the villages near Tzaneen and to interview some African women. Their living conditions are not easy, but what I will never forget is their smile and their joy while they were singing thanking prayers.
The best thing I learnt from this experience is the power of microcredit. Thanks to this trip I am not aware of how fundamental this development tool is for poor populations. The experience in South Africa was very helpful both for my job, giving me the opportunity to develop organizational skills, and for my personal growth, discovering a different culture and country.”
